5 for Five - Aug 4

So what is 5 For Five? In the short form, it is 5 goals I want to achieve this week. Next week, I will report on my success (or failure).

Here were the goals from last week:

1. Finish the March newspapers. Done! Having a few long plane flights helped.
2. Remove 5 "adult" items from Dan's room. Nope. Ran out of time.
3. Pre-write 3 blog posts I pre wrote 2, one posted last week, one will post next.
4. Give my Peace Lilly plant some love. Done! I cleaned it up and got rid of the dead leaves. It is still thriving, even when I forget about it. It was sent to me after Dan died, and he must like it because I can't kill it.
5. Print pictures of Shelby. I started to print pictures, but the ink in the photo printer is out, so I sent them to Walgreens and picked them up when I got to CA.

The beautiful city of Burlingame, CA, just south of San Francisco

So this was a 4 out of 5, and the one I missed I'm not kicking myself over. I'm getting my groove back. I'm focusing on small goals to start feeling productive again.

So what are my goals for this week???
Here are my SMART goals for this week:

1. Read newspapers until April 15.
2. Remove 5 "adult" items from Dan's room.
3. Pre-write 2 blog posts
4. Enjoy a special birthday!
5. Get printer ink to print pictures.

I am finally starting to realize how specific I need to make my goals, which is the the "S" in SMART.

You are probably wondering what a SMART goal is.  It is a term I "borrowed" from Say Goodbye to Survival Mode by Crystal Paine at Money Saving Mom.  SMART goals are: specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time-bound.  Since all these goals are really time-bound (1 week), I just have to get better at meeting the other criteria.

Ok, who is with me?  Let's keep each other on track to a better year!
